This year is a busy one, with things other than ceramics!!!
Woah! I am winding down my ceramics work and moving my creative outlet over to forms that have less impact on the environment (and me). Stay tuned for new works.
My old work? that is all going to be sold at the Artist Greenhouse sale coming up at the end of April... or by appointment.
Handmade art is worth the wait.

My Work...
My work is a blend of semi-functional art for embellishing everyday life. Inspiration I am inspired by northwest scenery and all its glory: fauna, flora, habitats, environments, and seasons. I enjoy attempting the juxtaposition of things I love with things that obscure its beauty. Fragmented images showing only part of the whole, antiqued or weathered looks. I work to balance the rudimentary and crude elements with refined elegance, polished precious metals or stones, a tender moment, or my favorite scenery. Influences I am heavily influenced by ornamentation, calligraphy, sumi-e, motifs /symbology, ancient bronzes and botanical patterns or details. I value old and worn items, because they reflect the love we have for familiar, and things we hold near and dear. Materials & Techniques My ceramic work was focused on two widely divergent clays: a mid-range porcelain and a groggy sculptural clay; occasionally combining the clays in one piece. When the piece calls for refined embellishment, I add gold or luster. Mixed media pieces include wood, metal, glass and clay. Current directions are in calligraphic expressions. |
